Employee Health & Safety
According to Bob Parkinson, CEO, ‘There is no more important responsibility for us as managers in this company than to provide a safe workplace for our employees’. This commitment to Health & Safety by senior management is demonstrated across our Irish facilities, e.g. our manufacturing site at Castlebar and Swinford are certified to the OHSAS 18001 standard for Occupational Health & Safety Management. OHSAS 18001 is an international standard whereby a company can have its health and safety work certified by independent experts. Our Corporate Occupational Health Program strives to enhance employee health through best-in-class health promotion initiatives, such as BeWell@Baxter.
Environment
We constantly strive to reduce the energy, water and raw materials used to create our products. Our manufacturing sites at Castlebar and Swinford along with our Dublin and Belfast Warehouse and Distribution centres are certified to the ISO 14001 standard for Environmental Management. ISO 14001 is an international standard whereby a company can have its environmental work certified by independent experts.Producer Responsibility
At Baxter we are not only interested in reducing the environmental impact of our operations. We also strive to produce greener products, and manage the environmental impacts of these products throughout their life cycle. To enable the recycling of electrical products at end of life, we are members of a compliance scheme, and are registered as a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Producer.
