Baxter's Irish Manufacturing Operations Receive Major Award At The National Irish Safety Organisation's Annual Conference

Baxter Healthcare S.A.’s Castlebar and Swinford Manufacturing Plants in Ireland have been awarded the National Irish Safety Organisation’s (NISO) ‘Best Safety Program in the Manufacturing Sector‘ accolade in 2017. This Major Safety Award was presented to a team of representatives from Baxter at the annual Health and Safety Awards Presentation ceremony held in Galway on 13 October 2017.

In congratulating Baxter’s Irish Operations on this outstanding achievement, the adjudicating committee, consisting of a panel of experts in health and safety, including representatives from NISO and NISG (Northern Ireland Safety Group), commended Baxter for demonstrating a positive and proactive culture of safety management, combined with evidence of strong management leadership and continual improvement for superior performance.

Ciaran Geraghty, local Head of Operations with responsibility for Baxter manufacturing plants in Castlebar, Swinford and Liverpool said: “As part of a multinational organisation that prioritises the highest of safety standards in its global operations, this award is exceptional recognition for the progress of our local team’s journey towards a Zero Harm workplace. This award provides recognition of our Plants’ consistent approach to raising and implementing health and safety standards to the highest level. This success has been achieved through the efforts of our 1100 strong team across both sites led by our EHS group and our Senior Leadership team and with the help of our Regional and Corporate EHS&S partners building on every employee’s contributions.”
